Nepal : The unavoidable

An easy trek for beginners - Sarangkot

The day hike to Sarankot in the middle of the Pokhara Valley is perfect for testing your form and preparing for the style of trekking that can be done in the area. Watch the sunrise and sunset from the charming little pension located at the top of the ridge.

Red tikas and orange marigolds

The colors of Hinduism and Buddhism abound in Kathmandu. The th century continues to live proudly in architecture and culture, despite the intrusive presence of the th century.

A trek to Everest base camp

This is a hike you will never forget - exciting, difficult, breathtaking. The mountains are higher than the clouds on the Everest trek. You will have to go to the limit, you will make lifelong friends and you will contribute to the development of the local economy.

An elephant back safari, Chitwan National Park

At dawn, take an elephant ride in Chitwan National Park to observe rhinos, before taking part in the pachyderm bath in the river.

Haggle in the markets

Except for food and basic products, here we haggle, whether to sell or to buy (in Namche, you will even be offered to buy your shoes!). There is a price for Nepalese and another for tourists, but no taxes. There is no shortage of good deals! Offer a third or half less than the asking price and stand firm.

Sherpa

Sherpas are some of the friendliest and most amazing people you will ever meet. Their strength is an inexhaustible source of wonder, their enthusiasm and hospitality are unforgettable.

A trek in the jungle

I am walking in a splendid tropical forest, sparkling with dew, and the humidity is such that my glasses keep misting up. The rocks, slippery, are covered with moss, but the hand of a Sherpa is always there to prevent me from breaking my neck. A skylight appears.

Tour of the trek Annapurnas

After hours of walking up or down the steep granite steps that punctuate the trail, the open-air hot springs of Tatopani, near the Kali Gandaki River, allow tired muscles to relax.

A trek to Annapurna base camp

The Annapurna Sanctuary trek leads to the heart of the Annapurna massif as it winds through a deep valley to arrive at the base camp of the highest peaks in the world. The view is breathtaking.

The momo

Succulent steamed dumplings dipped in a spicy tomato-based sauce that alone sums up the flavors of Nepal: chili, garlic, ginger, tomato and onion. It's hard not to get hooked!

Holi, the festival of colors, at Kathmandu

Holi is a particularly exuberant party whose strong point consists in spraying people with water and paint! You'll come out hilarious and covered in paint from head to toe.

From jiri to Everest

To discover rural Nepal, it is better to organize a trek to Everest from Jiri than to reach Lukla by plane and leave from there. The walk is difficult, but the scenery is extraordinary, the lodges quiet and the locals very welcoming. You will get a glimpse of the 'real' Nepal - for me it was the most enjoyable part of the Everest trek.

A chang and a tongba in Lukla

Celebrate the end of your trek in Lukla with these two “beers”. thechang (see photo) is a milky drink made from barley, rice or fermented millet. thetongba, made with fermented millet, is drunk through a straw in a huge glass where hot water is added as the level drops.

The pranks of the monkeys in Swayambhunath

Swayambhunath, nicknamed the Monkey Temple, is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Kathmandu. The monkeys who occupy the place must have luxury tastes, because the staircase that leads to the stupa and its prayer wheels offers a magnificent panorama of the city and the valley below.

The Cobras of Kathmandu

While walking in the streets of Kathmandu, we sometimes come across snake charmers. Warning: the reptiles are not very well trained and they sometimes try to bite passers-by! And if you take a photo, don't forget to donate or you will get insulted.
