Trujillo is the capital of the region La Libertad and the fourth largest city Peru.

Trujillo was founded in 1535 in the area of the former Chimu Empire, the name is named after the birthplace of the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro. The region's agriculture, including sugar cane, asparagus, corn and alfalfa, is located in Trujillo Universities.

By plane
The Aeropuerto Internacional Capitán FAP Carlos Martínez de Pinillos[1] is the airport of Trujillo (IATA code TRU). It is located about 10 km outside the city center and offers daily national connections to, among other things Lima With LanPeru and Star Peru. However, since there is often fog and the airport does not have a radar for blind landing, there are often delays or cancellations.

- Transportes Linea served daily in the south of Lima and Huaraz, and in the north too Cajamarca, Chiclayo and Piura.
- Movil Tours goes to Lima, Huaraz, Chachapoyas and Tarapoto.
- Ormeño has daily buses to Tumbes and internationally to Guayaquil, Quito and Caracas.

About 17 km southwest of Trujillo is the port of Salaverry, where numerous tourist ships dock between November and April.

In Trujillo there are innumerable inexpensive taxis, which horns ask you to take a ride. There is therefore a constant hooting of horns on the streets until late at night. To be on the safe side, agree the price of the trip beforehand
