Turňa nad Bodvou is a big village of Eastern Slovakia.
Understand
Former capital of the Hungarian county (county) of Torna until the end of XVIIIe century. The village is located south-east of Slovakian Karst National Park.
To go
The village is located on the axis Zvolen-Kosice (E571) many buses stop there.
It is possible to take a train to Plešivec since Kosice with stop in Turňa. From Hungary, trains run from Miskolc to Tornanádaska, the last village before the border, an hour's walk away.
Circulate
Turňa is a big village and if you are not motorized, you can only rely on your legs or to go further on a possible bus to the neighboring villages.

- 1 Castle ruins (A path marked in blue climbs towards the castle from the station.)
Free. – The castle is pretty seen from afar on the top of a small hill, from above you have a beautiful view of the surroundings. - 2 Zadielská dolina – The most beautiful valley in the Slovak Karst.

Hike to the castle and continue the path marked in blue until you overlook the canyon of Zadielská dolina. Go down to the bottom of the canyon marked in red. After leaving the valley, the markers will take you to Dvorníky - Zádiel station. The hike does 14,9 km, vertical drop 560 m, downhill 535 m, duration 4 h 25. The main stages are: Turňa nad Bodvou (altitude 180 m) - Okrúhly laz (altitude 585 m) - Zádielská dol. (altitude 475 m) - Dvorníky - Zádiel, station (altitude 205 m).
