Ullapool is a city in the north Scotland.
background
The small town of Ullapool is the northernmost larger settlement on the northwest coast of the Scottish Highlands, about 90 km northwest of Inverness. Ullapool is especially important as a ferry port to the Outer Hebrides and as a fishing port.
getting there
By plane
Ullapool does not have an airport. The closest international airports are Glasgow and Edinburgh, the airport Inverness provides connections within Scotland.
By train
There is no railroad anywhere in the Ullapool area. The nearest train station is for the journey to Ullapool Inverness. From here train travelers used the bus.
By bus
From Inverness is Ullapool with buses of the company Citylink reachable (approx. 1.5 h).
In the street
Ullapool is on the A835 and can be reached via Inverness, for example (90 km, 1.5 hours).
Ullapool is the southern end of a holiday route (North & West Highlands Route) which follows the north west coast of Scotland and up John o ’Groats leads.
By boat
The ferry company Caledonian MacBrayne connects Ullapool with Stornoway on the outer hebrides.

Located about 20 km south of Ullapool on the A832 Corrieshalloch Gorge, a 60 m deep and 2.5 km long canyon and its almost 50 m deep waterfall.
Ascent to the Stac Polaid. The starting point for the ascent is, for example, the hiking car park on the small road to Achiltibuie (follow the sign "Summer Isles" on the A835 from Ullapool to the north).
