The National Bicycle Route Network is a network of cycle routes in North Americawhich now covers more than 41,000 miles, which corresponds to over 66,000 kilometers (as of 2013). The routes are mostly on country roads with little traffic.

The first route was in 1976 Bike Centennial (please refer English Wikipedia), which as Transamerica Bicycle Trail is still in use. It runs from Astoria (Oregon) to Yorktown (Virginia).

The path system is looked after by the Adventure Cycling Association, a non-profit organization of cyclists in the United States. The organization has over 46,000 members.
