Thanks to the Shopping City Süd (SCS) shopping center, Vösendorf is one of the richest communities in Austria. This huge shopping center as well as other commercial areas dominate the municipal area, which is located in the north and west directly and without any significant changes in the development on the 23. Viennese Parish, Liesing, borders. Despite the modern appearance, there is still a small but fine old town center with a castle to admire.

The village was incorporated into Greater Vienna in 1938 and returned to Lower Austria in 1954.

getting there

Vösendorf is known throughout Austria as the traffic junction of the A2, A21 and S1 motorways, the Vösendorf junction, which has been partially combined with the Inzersdorf junction (A2 / A23) a few kilometers to the north since the opening of the Vienna southern bypass, is located in the municipality of Vösendorf .

mobility

It should be noted that the commercial areas and especially the SCS are mostly not built for pedestrians. There are only narrow - often none at all - sidewalks and only a few possibilities to cross the busy streets. Extensive parking spaces hardly invite you to take a walk.

Tourist Attractions

  • 1 Vösendorf Castle: 11./16. century
  • 2 Baroque parish church
  • The glass "pyramid", now a trendy hotel, is a landmark on Triester Straße opposite the SCS that cannot be overlooked.
