Valašské Meziříčí [ˈValaʃskɛ: ˈmɛzɪr̝i: tʃi:] (German: Wallachian Meseritsch) is a city of Moravian Wallachia. It is known informally by the local population Valmez designated.

Meziříčí was first mentioned in a document in 1297, and 100 years later it received town charter. In 1924 Krásno nad Bečvou was incorporated into Meziříčí on the other bank of the Rožnovská Bečva.
After 1945 Valašské Meziříčí became a center of the chemical and glass industries.
Culture: The folk-rock group is known and popular across the country, but also far beyond the borders of the Czech Republic Mňága a Žďorp, which was founded here in 1983 and recorded the unofficial anthem "Made in Valmez" for its hometown. The song was first officially released on the album of the same name in 1991 as a sound carrier. Mňága a Žďorp still play concerts in their hometown today.

Valašské Meziříčí can be reached without changing from Praha hl.n. in 3.5 hours with the Valašský expres (Praha – Žilina, Every 2 hours). In the opposite direction you can reach Valašské Meziříčí from Žilina (Slovakia) in about 1.75 hours.
The train station is about a 15-minute walk northwest of the city center.
By bus
The bus station (Valašské Meziříčí autobusové nádraží) is located about 5 minutes northeast of the city center. From here / here, ČSAD Vsetín operates various connections, including from / to Brno, Ostrava and Zlín.

- Former town hall of Krásno, on the north side of the market square. Erected in 1677.
- Residence to the apostles (dům u apoštolů). Erected in 1598. On the facade there are stucco reliefs of saints from the second half of the 18th century.
- Holocaust Memorial. In 2004 the Holocaust memorial was inaugurated in memory of the 150 or so deported Jews.
- City cemetery. In the city cemetery there are graves for 3,100 soldiers who died in North Moravia during the Second World War. The military cemetery was opened in 2001 with multi-lingual memorial plaques.
