The mackenzie valley is a region of Northwest Territories to Canada. It is also called heart of the mackenzie.

The Mackenzie Valley is made up of a vast expanse of wilderness. The small communities that live there preserve the heritage of the Dene.

Cities

  • Colville Lake (K'ahbamitue)  – Small isolated village where the ancestral way of life is still practiced.
  • Deline  – Located at the mouth of the Bear River on the Mackenzie River.
  • Fort good hope (Radeli Koe)  – Oldest trading post in the southern Mackenzie Valley, includes the Church of Our Lady of Good Hope, a National Heritage Site.
  • Norman Wells (The Gohline)  – Largest community in the region, industrial and transport center.
  • Tulita  – Located at the meeting point of the Great Bear River and the Mackenzie River.
