Verbier's main activity during the winter is skiing. The ski area is one of the largest in Switzerland, extending to Thyon and up to the Mt Fort glacier. The area is very famous for the off the track which makes Verbier one of the favorite destinations for more experienced skiers. The best area for beginners is Savolyres. There are fewer infrastructures for snowboarding, but even fans of this discipline can still have fun and experience the thrill of off-piste.
