Vienna is a city in the Piedmont region of the US state Virginia. The city has a good name due to its extraordinarily high quality of life. For travelers, Vienna is primarily due to its proximity to Washington, D.C. Interesting. The journey time by car and public transport is less than 1 hour.
background
Vienna is predominantly a dormitory and residential city with 17,000 inhabitants (2018). It is located in Virginia, not far from Washington, DC. There are many small shops in the city center. Part of the Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park's network of hiking and biking trails runs through the city center.
The first European settler was the former soldier and landowner in 1754 Colonel Charles Broadwater. His son-in-law John Hunter built a house here in 1767 and named the town after his Scottish hometown Ayr Hill. When the doctor William Hendrick settled here, the city was named after his birthplace Vienna renamed. This place is known today by the name Phelps.

By plane
The Dulles International Airport (IAD) is ½ hour west, on the edge of Chantilly and Herndon. The closer to D.C. located Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is 45 minutes away.
By train
Vienna does not have an Amtrak train station. However, on the southern edge of the city, already in the area of the neighboring town of Oakden, is the Vienna-Fairfax Station, the terminus of the Orange line, a S-Bahn line of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authoritywho have favourited Vienna with Washington D.C. connects. The station is also ideal for Park & Ride.
