background
Villa General Belgrano was founded in the 1930s by German and Swiss colonists. After the Second World War, survivors of the German warship encountered Count Spee added. After constructing their houses based on the model of Alpine architecture, they quickly recognized the tourist potential of the place, which is now one of the most popular holiday centers in the Sierras de Córdoba. The initially local beer festival in October has turned into a mass spectacle over the years, which may not yet compete with the German original, but is a must for lovers of boozy evenings and Central European food in Argentina.
The place was often suspected in the past to be a Mecca of the old Nazis. Certainly some of the Graf Spee survivors are still uncritical about their past, but most of the residents are alien to the right ideas - a book has even been written on this subject which concludes that the allegations are not justified.

The regional beers are particularly recommended Fountain (from Villa General Belgrano itself), Cassaro (from Cordoba) and Antares (from Mar del Plata). The beers are available in light, dark and "red" versions.
