Wool is Lithuania capital, there are more than 540,000 inhabitants.
Understand
In terms of architecture, Vilnius is an interesting mix of the medieval old town, the Soviet-era concrete creeps and the skyscrapers of the business center.
Come
Both Finnair and Air Baltic fly daily From Helsinki To Vilnius. Vilnius International Airport (DATE: VNO, [1]) is located close to the center. A local bus (ticket € 1 purchased from the driver) takes you to the city center; a taxi taken from the yard is expensive (€ 15), as tourists are almost regularly cheated on airport transfers. There is also a train connection from the airport to the train station.
Move
By road
By bus
There are both regular buses in the city [2]that electric trolleybuses [3]. The line numbers overlap: so you should be careful whether it is bus number 12 or cable bus number 12!
A single ticket from the driver costs 1 €, special groups half price. The ticket must be stamped when boarding the bus or immediately after purchasing it - the bus is usually not accessible from the front door! The stamps are either new electronic or old-fashioned mechanical - fellow passengers will advise if you are helpless trying to stamp. Please note that the ticket is non-exchangeable, you will have to buy a new ticket for each trip!
Another option is to get a travel card (€ 1.5) from the kiosk and top it up. The ticket purchased with the card in the vehicle is valid for either 30 or 60 minutes. A 60-minute ticket is cheaper than a one-time ticket purchased from a driver.
Walking
The center of Vilnius is small enough and you can walk quite well. Pilies, Vokiecu, Gediminas, Traku are the streets from which the typical traveler hardly leaves - not so much that there is nothing else to see.
By bike
There are plenty of cycle paths in the center.

Stay safe
Vilnius is a fairly safe city during the day. However, there are many Romani beggars and inquirers for small money or tobacco, and common sense should be followed, and wandering, for example, when intoxicated or lost, should be avoided.
