background
In addition to the small town of Walenstadt, Walenstadtberg, Tscherlach and Berschis belong to the municipality of Walenstadt.
It is located at the eastern end of the Walensee and also owes its origin to the lake. Because until 1848 there was no route along the steep shores of the lake, but all goods were transported across the lake by boats. There is evidence that this already happened at the time of the Romans, who had laid one of their roads here, which also led across the lake.
