Waterville Valley is a tourist spot in the White Mountains region of the New Hampshire, home to numerous sporting competitions, including many races of the Alpine Skiing World Cup.

Waterville Valley draws many visitors in the winter months with downhill skiing at Waterville Valley Resort and many miles of cross-country skiing trails. During the summer, attractions include a golf course, tennis courts and many excursions. The Mad River runs through the city and offers wonderful views all year round.

Background

Waterville Valley was first settled in the 1760s and incorporated as Waterville in 1829. The name Waterville Valley was only adopted in 1967.
