The city of Weener consists of 15 districts: Beschotenweg, Diele, Holthusen, Kirchborgum, Stapelmoor, St. Georgiwold, Vellage, Weener, Holthuser Heide, Halte, Dieler Heide, Tichelwarf, Möhlenwarf, Stapelmoorer Heide and Weenermoor.Weener is considered the capital of the Rheiderland, which, as a stretch of land between Ems and Dollard, belongs to both Germany (East Frisia) and the Netherlands (province of Groningen).
