Weibersbrunn is a Lower Franconian community in the highspessart.

background

The place Weibersbrunn is relatively young, namely only 300 years old. Its origin can be found in the glassworks, of which there were plenty in the Spessart in the 18th century. When another glassworks was built in 1706, that was the beginning of the village of Weibersbrunn, which had 83 inhabitants in a census in 1717. The place has belonged to Bavaria since 1814, and after the decline of the glassworks in the 19th century, there were hardly any employment opportunities at home for the inhabitants of Weibersbrunn, so that many residents went abroad as construction workers. With the construction of the A3 motorway, there was an upswing in the town from the early 1960s.
