history

The bird park Walsorde was founded in 1962. Initially, only water birds and pheasants from private breeding were shown. But the bird park grew rapidly and vigorously. More and more new plants with other species were added. The park kept getting into financial difficulties because the visitors stayed away. Bankruptcy has threatened several times. There have been several reforms and the owners have changed several times. At the moment the bankruptcy seems averted. On the A 27, take the Walsrode West exit. From here on, the park is already signposted. It also goes on the A 7, exit Bad Fallingbostel onto the B 209 towards Walsrode. The park is also well signposted here. A bus runs from the train station in Walsrode to the bird park.
