By plane
The nearest airports are the Hanover Airport
(IATA: HAJ) and the Bremen Airport(IATA: BRE). In the wider area lie Hamburg Airport(IATA: HAM), Paderborn Lippstadt Airport(IATA: PAD) and Munster Osnabrück Airport(IATA: FMO).
By train
From the south, you can take the train from Hanover to Walsrode. The route is called Heidebahn and leads to Buchholz (Nordheide) with a connection to Hamburg. To get to Walsrode from the north, east or west, you first have to go to Soltau drive. Here is a junction of the railway with transfer options in the direction of Bremen and Uelzen. Only regional trains stop in Walsrode. The train station of Walsrode is located a little outside the city center in a northeast direction.

On the autobahn, Walsrode can be reached via the A 27 from the north from Bremen and from the south from Hanover. Southeast of Walsrode, the A 27 branches off from the A 7 Hanover-Hamburg at the Walsroder Dreieck. From the north you drive on the A7 to Walsrode. You leave the autobahn at the Bad Fallingbostel junction and then take the B 209 to Walsrode. The B 209 connects Walsrode in a south-westerly direction Nienburg (Weser).

The bird park Walsrode
The Walsrode World Bird Park is an animal park with a long tradition. It is located in the north of Walsrode and shows countless species of birds. It is designed like a zoo, except that there are only birds to be seen. The variety is enormous. A beautifully designed tour followed by a bird of prey show is worth a whole day.
The largely beautifully designed park (a few, a few aviaries are very dreary) invites you on a worldwide journey through the bird world. There is a booklet about the bird park and its inhabitants. If you want more information about the birds that live here, then you should definitely get this booklet, because the information at the aviaries is very much like in all other zoos modest.
