Geographical notes
Located 16 km southwest of Providenciales, in an uncontaminated environment, it measures about 16 km in length and 2.5 in width.
Background
It was initially used by pirates as a refuge, later it was occupied for some time by Mormons.

By plane
In 1972, following expansions by a large oil company, an airport was created, which is now undergoing expansion.

What see
Only a few ruins remain of the Yankeetown settlement that once stood on the shores of Lake Catherine, including the remains of the railway line and the locomotive.
