Great Plains – (Great Plains) - a vast geographic region, and at the same time a cultural circle in the area of Canada and the USA, at the foot of the Cordillera. This area, made up of Mesozoic and Tertiary limestones and sandstones, is characterized by a flat topography and almost exclusively grassy vegetation (except for riparian forests in the river valleys), the so-called prairie.
