Wil is a city in northeastern Switzerland. With almost 17,000 inhabitants, it is the third largest city in the canton of St. Gallen.
getting there
As a central station on the line (Geneva) - Zurich - St. Gallen Wil is an important junction for public transport and can therefore be easily reached, especially by train.
By plane
The nearest airport is Zurich Kloten. Wil can be reached by train from the airport in around half an hour.
By train
Especially with the train Wil can be reached very easily. The station is on the Zurich-Winterthur-St. Gallen, other routes leading to Wil is the one from Toggenburg from Nesslau-Neu St. Johann as well as that of the Thurbo from Konstanz via Weinfelden, and the narrow-gauge railway leads from Frauenfeld to Wil.
In the street
The Wil autobahn exit is on the A1 autobahn between Winterthur and St. Gallen, while Hauptstrasse 16 connects Wil with Constance and Lake Constance and Toggenburg.

Buildings
- Wiler Tower. The wooden observation tower, which opened in 2006, is located on the Hofberg and offers a good view of the landscape.
- court. The farm was founded as a castle and administrative seat by the lords of Toggenburg. It came into the possession of the monastery of St. Gallen in 1226 and was used by the abbot as an outside residence until the monastery was dissolved. Since 1978 it has been under federal protection of monuments.
- Baron house. The baron house was built in 1795 by Reichsvogt Baron Josef Pankraz von Grüebler as a private residence. It has belonged to the local community since 1952. The facade is adorned with decorative illusion painting.
