The Lüneburg Heath Wildlife Park lies on the parish of the municipality Hanstedt (North Heath), it was founded in 1970 and covers an area of around 60 hectares. Much of it is forested.

The park offers a habitat for around 120 animal species. These include, among other things
- Fallow deer, red deer, elk, elk
- Bears, European wolves and arctic wolves, arctic foxes, Siberian tigers
- European bison, highland cattle, yaks
- Turkeys, pheasants, wild pigeons
- Wildcats, minks, otters
- Birds of prey: falcons, eagles, hawks
getting there
- The park is on the L 216 just under 3 km west of the
40 Garlsdorf, there is a large parking lot in front of the park.
- There are bus connections from / to Luneburg, Buchholz and Hanstedt (North Heath).

The park's terrain is hilly. The paths are good, but a bit difficult for wheelchair users or strollers. Hand carts can also be borrowed as a means of transport at the park entrance.

The wildlife park restaurant and the Elch Lodge restaurant as well as a snack can be found on the park grounds. There are also restaurants in the nearby town of Nindorf.
