Wilmington is a port city in the southeast of the US state North Carolina and is on Cape Fear River. Its historic city center is characterized by mansions in the southern style. In recent decades, tourism has grown in Wilmington, not least because of the film industry. A biological peculiarity is that Venus flytrap. This carnivorous plant lives in the boggy countryside surrounding the city.
