Woodstock is a town located in Carleton County in the West of New Brunswick on the right bank of the Saint John River at the confluence with the river Meduxnekeag river at 15 km west of the border american.

Woodstock is located on Route 2, corresponding to the Trans-Canada Highway To 90 km north-west of Fredericton and to 190 km south-east ofEdmunston. Woodstock is located at the junction of Route 95 with Route 2. Route 95 heads towards the border american west of Woodstock and retains the name Route 95 in the United States. It connects Houlton to Maine.

- 1 L.-P.-Fisher Public Library 679 Main Street – Municipal historic site, library built in 1914. The library is the starting point for a self-guided tour of the city.
- Carleton County Courthouse Main Street – One of the most imposing buildings in the city, inaugurated in 1910, the only courthouse in Canada to still own the enclosure where the grand jury takes place. On the grounds, there is also a cenotaph in memory of the soldiers of the county who died during the First World War as well as a plaque for those who died later. A cannon German is also installed there.
- Carleton County Jail – A two-storey building built in 1901 located behind the courthouse and with a three-storey square tower, several original features are intact. The prison was used until 1993 and three people were hanged there. Moreover, the execution of Benny Swim in 1922 created a scandal since he was hanged twice.
