Ionian Islands - one of the 13 administrative regions Greece located at the west end of the country. It covers most of the Ionian Islands archipelago without the southern islands off the southwestern coast of the Peloponnese, such as Kithira Antikithira and Elafonisos. The region is bordered by other regions by the waters of the Ionian Sea: to the east with the region Epirus and region Western Greece, from the north with Albania and from the west with Italy.
The capital of the region is Corfu.
