Western Greece - one of the 13 administrative regions Greece located in the central-western part of the country. It is situated on the Ionian Sea on both sides of the Gulf of Patras (partly on the Gulf of Corinth and the Peloponnese). It borders on the south and south-east with the region Peloponnese, from the north with the region Epirus, to the east with the region Central Greece. To the west, the region is bordered by the Ionian Sea, and to the north, the border with Epirus runs partly along the Ambracian Gulf.
The capital of the region is Patras.
