Central Greece - one of the 13 administrative regions of Greece located in the central part of the country, on the southern tip of the Balkan Peninsula. Its area covers the historical region of Central Greece, excluding its western part. The large island of Euboea off its eastern coast also belongs to the region.
The region borders on the south-east with the region Attic, from the north with the region Thessaly, from the west withWest Greece. To the south it is bordered by the Gulf of Corinth, to the east by the Aegean Sea.
The capital of the region is Lamia.
