Yangon (city) - Yangon (cidade)

Shwedagon Pagoda

Yangon (ex-Rangoon) was the capital of Myanmar until it was replaced by Nay Pyi Taw in November 2005. Today, with a population of over 5 million people, it remains Myanmar's largest city and economic center.

It is the most cosmopolitan city in Myanmar, where you can find nightlife, world-class restaurants, and many of the country's museums. The city is an amalgamation of British, Chinese and Indian influences. Known for its colonial architecture, which although decaying, remains an almost unique example of a 19th century British colonial capital in Asia.

To arrive

Yangon International Airport - (Mingladon) (IATA: RGN) is approximately 30 minutes from the city center on normal time. Calculate for 2 hours during peak hours. There are no accommodations near the airport.
