Babble (French: Saverne) is a city in Alsace in the region Bas-Rhin, northwest of Strasbourg located.

Zabern is the capital of the Arrondissement of Saverne and the administrative seat of the Canton of Saverne.

The city lies at the foot of the Zaberner Steige (Col de Saverne), a 6 kilometer wide Vosges ridgewhich is relatively flat at 410 meters. It connects the High Rhine Plain with the Lorraine highlands. Both the railroad, the motorway and the Rhine-Marne Canal cross the Vosges here.
