Eastern Zambia is a region of Zambia which, with a good approximation, can be considered coincident with the Eastern Province (Eastern Province)
To know
For some it is arguably considered the least developed region, while for others it is only the least accessible. South Luangwa National Park. South Luangwa, perhaps Africa's best reserve, boasts four gods Big Five (sadly, the only rhinos in Zambia are a Livingstone) and very low tourist traffic (due, to a large extent, to its inaccessibility). No other reserve in Africa can match this combination.
Background
The Luangwa River Valley is known for not supporting former President Frederick Chiluba in one of his nominations. Therefore some interpret his underdevelopment as a kind of punishment.
