Blockage - city in the province Lesser Poland, in the Oświęcim poviat, located on the Skawa River, the seat of the urban-rural commune of Zator.
Characteristic
The city is located on the Skawa River, in the Oświęcim Basin. It is located at an altitude of 293 m above sea level. Surrounded by many ponds, mainly in the north, south and west.
Commonly known for breeding fish - especially king carp - and the cyclical event, Zatorium Carp Days. Capital city Carp Valley.
Drive
By rail
In Zator there is a railway stop on the line 94 Kraków Płaszów - Oświęcim. However, passenger transport on this route was liquidated in December 2012. In 2019, Przewozy Regionalne launched seasonal (May-September) connections between Kraków-Zator-Oświęcim and Katowice-Zator (arrival to Zator in the morning, return to voivodeship cities in the evening).

By bus
Buses to Zator run mainly from Krakow. Carriers on this route are, for example, GT Trans, Przewóz Osób JS and Marek Lewański. The most common end stops are Zator Cemetery and Zator Rynek (all buses depart from Krakow's MDA Railway Station).

Parties
Carp festival - the holiday organized in July is related to carp farming. During this event, various music bands appear on the market, fish stalls are set up, grilling and smoking of carp are presented, and you can enjoy a tasting with the whole family. There are also often attractions for children.
