Zelve is a village in Cappadocia in the Turkey.
background
Similar to in Goreme residential complexes, monasteries and churches can be found here in a very small space, with the subtle difference that this city was inhabited until 1953. Only then was the entire village evacuated due to the danger of collapse and housed in the new Yeni Zelve (New Zelve) building. The old Zelve in three valleys can be discovered today for 8 TL, although some areas are cordoned off for security reasons.

If you drive the connecting road from Avanos to Goreme so you can see a tuff pillar with a square hat on the left. Shortly after this striking tuff, a well-developed road turns left towards Zelve. The signs cannot be overlooked
