THE'Vancouver Island is the largest island on the west coast ofAmerica. It is located in thePacific Ocean off the coast of the British Columbia to Canada. The Vancouver Island region also includes smaller islands located between it and the mainland.

Understand

Long about 460 km and wide of 80 km, it is the largest island on the west coast ofAmerica with a surface area slightly greater than that of the Belgium. The south and east of the island are very inhabited, but the cities and urban development are very neat. It is a very popular vacation spot. The north and west of the island are much less inhabited; nature takes over until it becomes lush and majestic with wildlife including whales, bears and killer whales.

Central Vancouver Island
Centered around Nanaimo, region including the Pacific Rim area and Tofino.
South Vancouver Island
The most densely populated region of the island, including Victoria, the capital of the province, the Saanich peninsula more rural as well as other small towns.
Gulf Islands
Archipelago located between Victoria and Nanaimo in the Strait of Georgia comprising the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve
Discovery Islands
Archipelago located near Campbell River
