The Gulf Islands are an archipelago located in the Strait of Georgia east of thePacific Ocean between theVancouver Island and the mainland of the British Columbia to Canada.
Understand
The Gulf Islands are generally divided into two parts, North and South, with the dividing line extending from the town of Nanaimo on theVancouver Island to the mouth of the Fraser River on the mainland. The southern part is made up of thousands of islands that are part of a larger archipelago also encompassing the san juan islands to United States.
The waters surrounding the Gulf Islands are rich in animal and plant species. There are kelp and killer whales in particular.

The Cortes Islands and theQuadra Island are sometimes considered to be part of the Northern Gulf Islands, but, as they are not exactly included in the Strait of Georgia, they are instead considered to be part of the archipelago north of the so-called Strait Discovery Islands.

Some islands are connected to each other by a ferry (ferry), but we often have to go to theVancouver Island to go from one island to another. There are also passenger-only marine taxi services that can be used to travel between the islands.
