History

The oldest mention of Śródka comes from 1389, when Tomasz of Śródka was mentioned at that time. Approx. 1700, the town passed into the hands of the branched Kurnatowski family, and in 1763 - through a couple - to the von Seydlitz-Kurzbach family who came from Silesia and ruled it until 1945.

Worth seeing

In the years 1858-1861, a neo-Gothic palace with a diverse architectural shape was erected here, being one of the most interesting palace buildings from the 19th century. Greater Poland. The author of the design is not known, but due to the design of the facade and decoration as well as the layout of the rooms, it is assumed that he comes from the circle of the eminent German architect K. F. Schinkel.

In recent years, the palace has passed into private hands and has been restored. A hotel and restaurant were built on the premises of the palace, where guests can enjoy the beauty of nature adjacent to the palace park, with an area of ​​2.7 ha and the surrounding lakes.

There are several lakes in the vicinity of the village (including Lake Wielkie 1 km to the north with an area of ​​261 ha, depth 30 m, with 3 islands).

At the edge of the forest to the north. a dozen or so monumental oaks with a circumference of approx. 7 m grow from the village.

To the east of the palace, built in the middle of the Of the nineteenth century, a park with an area of ​​2.7 ha, in which grow, among others old oaks with a circumference of more than 5 m.

To the west - behind the road - a farm with buildings from the end of the 19th century. Today, the farm belongs to the State Treasury and is leased.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the area of ​​the property was 988 ha. There was a distillery there, and Oldenburg cattle were raised. After the Second World War, Śródka's goods passed into the hands of the State Treasury, and then they were incorporated into a state-owned farm established in this area.
