Eastern Pyrenees (Prefectural Tourism Committee) is an area apartment Languedoc-Roussillon in SoutheastFrance.
At a glance
Separated from Spain by the Pyrenees and wet by the Mediterranean, the Eastern Pyrenees have a special variety of landscapes, from beaches to the lowlands and the coastline of the Serdani-Capir Mountains at 2,921 meters. its vergers, overseen by a mythical peak, the Canigou. A sunny area, where the arts flourish through the Romanesque chapels and fortresses, including the Color, cradle of fauvisme, the Perpignan capital of the kings of Mallorca, the Κερέ and its Museum of Contemporary Art, the Amelie-le-Bain and its hot springs, the Prad and its festivals (music, cinema)…
The climate in the plains is Mediterranean, therefore particularly hot and dry in summers. Les recommandations d'usage for summer activities are the usual: to protect yourself from the sun, to bring water with you during your hikes in nature as the water pumping points are very hard to find, to avoid intense physical exercise in the period between 12 and 16. In mountainous areas, be careful to follow the usual safety rules.
