Èze is a village in the Provence, France, between Nice and Monaco.
info
Èze consists of two parts:
- Èze (Èze village), the actual high-altitude village, is located on a hill about 350 meters above the sea and offers a fantastic view of the coast
- Èze-sur-Mer (also Èze-bord-de-Mer called) on the coast, a seaside resort
getting there
By train
- 1 Èze-sur-mer station This station is located in Eze-sur-Mer and is a station on the line along the coast (with stations in Nice, Monaco and Ventimiglia). However, not all trains stop there. The high village can be reached on foot on the "Nietzsche-Weg" (for more details see section "On Foot").

In the street
The municipality is crossed mainly from west to east by 3 roads:
- By Èze-sur-Mer leads the Basse corniche (M6098) - too route du bord de mer (Uferstraße) called, which runs along the entire coast of the department.
- Èze village is on the street Moyenne corniche (M6007), also known as part of the Route national 7 (the holiday route that goes from Paris to Italy). As the name suggests, it runs halfway up the mountain side.
- The Grande corniche (D 2564; called Avenue des diables bleus on the section above the village of Èze) runs on the ridge between Nice and Menton.
By bicycle
There are some good climbs on the section of the quayside between Nice and Monaco: one 100 m high in Villefranche (to the west, next to Nice) and two more on the east side around Cap d'Ail. So you should be prepared for a certain amount of effort or take your time. Not a good route for the difficult "vélos bleus" (city bikes).
The road to the village of Èze and the Grande corniche can be seen as a sporty ride, given the altitude (350 m and 550 m).
On foot
From Èze-sur-mer to Èze village: A long, moderately steep footpath that Chemin de Nietzsche (also Chemin de la mer), connects the coastal town of Èze-sur-Mer with the actual village. The ascent takes about 1½ hours, the descent (from Èze to Èze-sur-Mer) about 1 hour. If you walk briskly, you can climb up in 1 hour and descend in 45 minutes.
The path is named after the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, who made it to his Stay in Èze often used and praised it for its beauty. The footpath begins 100 meters from the train station (in an easterly direction) and is marked by a stone plaque. First it runs on asphalt along garden walls, then it goes over stairs into a partly stony dirt road. The village of Èze cannot be seen from the path, but you will be rewarded with wonderful views of the sea and the bay. If you know where to look, you can also see a waterfall.
mobility
The village Èze (village) is completely pedestrian.
