Őriszentpéter is a small town with a tourist destination in western Transdanubia in Hungary. Also Austria and Slovenia is close.

History
The newly arrived Hungarians in that region made a special border zone. This zone was created only there in the whole of Hungary. No villages or towns were founded. The system took advantage of the geographical possibilities. That was an endless series of small hills. There was only one family living on all the hills. Their house formed a square along with the dwelling, stable and barn. Originally Őriszentpéter consisted of 9 square houses. The Catholic Church was built in the late 13th century, later the site was the core of a village that received its name from the church's patron. During socialism the whole region was neglected, as the infamous was nearby Iron Curtain. The city status arrived in 2005.
