THE Alistrati is his town prefecture of Serres.
At a glance
It is located on its eastern borders prefecture of Serres, in the area of the Province of Phyllis, right on the border with Prefecture of Drama. It is known for the Alistrati cave and the gorge of the river Aggitis. According to the 2001 census, it has 2,764 inhabitants and is the largest town in the area and the Municipality of Nea Zichni to which it belongs administratively since 2009. Alistrati has been an autonomous community since 4/1/1920. With the law "Kapodistria" of local self-government of 1997 was upgraded to a Municipality and included the communities of Agiochori, Skopia, Mandili, Lefkothea and SS. Touch. With the law "Kallikratis" on local self-government of 2009 the Municipality of Alistrati merged with the Municipality of Nea Zichni.
How to get there
By road
It is 20 km from Drama, 52 of the Serres and 48 from Kavala.
Bus
The bus runs every hour to Serres and Drama from 05:00 to 22:00. The city has four stops in the park. Primary School, the Center and the crossroads for the cave.
