Aagtkerke is a village on Walcheren.

Aagtkerke used to belong to the municipality of Mariekerke, which consisted of the villages of Aagtkerke, Grijpskerke and Meliskerke and the farmers (buurschap) Buttinge and Poppendamme. Since the major municipal reform in 1997, everything has been united in the municipality of Veere, an area in the middle of Walcheren that was and still is mainly characterized by agriculture. Large farms share the arable land on around 34km². After the in Domburg A large investor (Roompot) who lured away tourists, especially Aagtkerke, tried very hard in many ways to get more accommodation again. In any case, it is a quiet area for those who like agriculture. Even the way to the beach is still manageable by bike.
