In the 5th / 6th JH BC Adria was an important Etruscan city, it was located in a lagoon that was connected to the Mediterranean by canals. Today the city lies over 15 km inland at Canalbianco, the landscape between the Adige and the Po Polesine flows through.

By boat

Adria is located on the navigable Canalbianco and is easily accessible by houseboats. The Canalbianco has connections to the Po and the Adige. This enables boat trips far inland (Mantua), to the Adriatic Sea as well as to Chioggia and thus to the Venice lagoon.
