Geographical notes
It borders to the north with the state of Jalisco and to the west with the state of Zacatecas. Its name means "warm waters" in Spanish. It is an internal state and therefore has no access to the sea.

The state was founded in 1835 when the territory was separated from the state of Zacatecas.

You can find good beer and often In the Juarez market, located in the historic center of the city, you can try a dish of birria.
