history
Air France's history begins in 1909. Over the years, more and more airlines have merged. Air France has been owned by a holding company since 2004, which they and KLM united under one roof.
fleet
Air France currently has around 250 aircraft. These include the common Airbus models for short, medium and long-haul flights (A318, A319, A320, A321, A330, A340, A380) and Boeing long-haul aircraft (747/777, various models).
Alliances
Air France is a member of the Sky Team alliance, including Alitalia, KLM and Delta.
Route network and hubs
The biggest turnstile is that Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. Another turnstile is located in LyonWhen booking long-haul flights, you can assume that you will have to transfer at one of these airports. If you fly to France (especially smaller places with few flight connections) and have to change trains in Paris, you may have to change airports in Paris (Orly for national, CDG for international flights).
Classes of carriage
Air France has 3 classes of transport (First, Business, Economy), although there is also an improved "wood class" called "Economy Comfort".
Lounges
Air France has lounges and partner lounges for the Sky Team. These can be used by passengers from business. Premium Economy users get access for a fee.
Frequent flyer program
Air France offers the Flying Blue frequent flyer program, which is structured in a similar way to Miles and More. There are 4 status groups: Ivory, the standard without any major advantages. Silver, gold, platinum, then offer advantages depending on the status.
