Angera is a citizen of the province of Varese, in Lombardy.

Geographical notes
Angera is located in the southern part of the Lombardy side of the Lake Maggiore, north of the town stands the hill of San Quirico (410 m a.s.l.) which protects the town from northern winds making the climate particularly temperate
The inhabited center develops along the shore of the lake and is dominated by the imposing construction of the Rocca di Angera which rises on a relief in the western part of the municipal territory.
In front of the lakefront, in the center of the gulf of Angera, is the Isolino Partegora, one of the smallest islands of Lake Maggiore. On the coast behind the island, up to the border with Sesto Calende, is the most significant wetland of Lake Maggiore, the Bruschera nature reserve where numerous species of birds nest.
When to go
The inhabited center is sheltered both by the inlet in which it is located and by the hill behind it, during the daytime the winter temperatures hardly drop below zero, in summer the maximums reach 35 ° C. Not to be underestimated is the autumn period when the climate and temperatures allow walks on the many paths and in the surrounding woods.

By plane
The closest airport is Milan Malpensa.
Angera can be reached from the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore using the boats of the Lake Maggiore navigation.
On the train
The railway station of reference is that of Sesto Calende, from here Angera can be reached by bus of the line N17 / 20. Alternatively, the Arona station can be used, reaching Angera with the boats of the Navigazione Lago Maggiore.

- Feast of Sant'Arialdo. On 27 June a traditional procession of boats with torchlight procession takes place towards the island of Partegora.

Angera has two beaches, in recent years the waters of Angera have received the blue flag of Legambiente.
