- Uzbekistan
- Turkmenistan
- Kyrgyzstan
- Tajikistan
- Afghanistan (sometimes counted)
- China (sometimes the western part is included)
- Mongolia (sometimes counted)
- Pakistan (sometimes its northern part is included in Central Asia)
- India (as above)
- Iran (sometimes includes the Northeast fragment)
