Balástya - is a small town located in the south Hungarian, about 25 km north of Szeged, on the national road no 5.
Drive
By rail
There is a train station in the village and trains connecting the cities Szeged and Budapest.
By car
A national road passes through the village no 5connecting Budapest With Szeged. Until recently, it was the main international route, where passenger and goods traffic from the north of Europe to the south (international roads to Serbia and RomaniaAfter the construction and opening of a new section of the motorway M5 (international route E75), the town has been relieved of increased traffic, but there is still a hotel, inn and roadside restaurants in it.
Communication
Balastya is a small town, there is no public transport here. There are only local buses that provide access to Szeged and local towns and villages.
Worth seeing
- The main monument of the village is romanesque church, built in an eclectic style in 1903. It is located in the very center, right at the crossroads. Looking at the temple, we immediately notice a soaring tower with clocks.
- About 250 meters further south is an old historic cemetery with historic tombstones. A picturesque alley leads through it, at the end of which there is a pretty chapel. Along the alley we can see monuments depicting the next stations of the Cross.
- There are also lakes and numerous green areas, meadows and parks in the Balastya area. It is the perfect place for rest and relaxation in the bosom of nature.
