Bischbrunn is a Lower Franconian municipality in Spessart. Since May 1, 1978, the districts of Bischbrunn and Oberndorf have belonged to it, as well as the hamlets of Breitsol, Neubau, Schleifmühle, Straßlücke, Sylvan and Torhaus Aurora since January 1, 2008. She belongs to the administrative community Marktheidenfeld.

Bischbrunn was first mentioned in a document in 1338 as "Bischofborn". At the end of the 13th / beginning of the 14th century it came to the Archdiocese of Mainz, where it remained until 1806.
