Wertheim is a city in Baden-Wuerttemberg on the border to Bavaria. The Taubertal begins near Wertheim. Neighbor is the Spessart.

The city of Wertheim is located at the confluence of the Tauber in the Main. It is the largest city in the Main-Tauber district of Baden-Württemberg. Since the municipal reform in 1975, Wertheim has owned a total of 15 formerly independent municipalities as well as a number of farms and living spaces. Reicholzheim and Wet are the two largest districts; the former Cistercian monastery in is also widely known Bronnbach.

Wertheim Castle

  • 1 The ruin of the castle rises above the old town on a mountain spur and offers a good view over the area Main and deaf. Construction began in the 12th century.
