Miltenberg

Miltenberg is a much-visited half-timbered gem in Lower Franconia. The small town lies on the Main between Spessart and Odenwald.

getting there

By train

With long-distance traffic to Aschaffenburg (ICE connection). Then with the Maintalbahn to Miltenberg.

By bus

  • NaTourBuss with free bike transport. The NaTourBus commutes every two hours on weekends and Hessian public holidays between Eberbach am Neckar, Beerfelden, Erbach, Michelstadt, Amorbach and Miltenberg am Main.

In the street

On the highway A3 (Frankfurt - Würzburg) to Symbol: AS 57 Stockstadt. From here it's about that B469 about 35 km to Miltenberg Woerth am Main is the federal highway B469 Expanded to four lanes to 20 km.

The German half-timbered street leads through the place.

By bicycle

Miltenberg is the station of the cycle paths Limes cycle path and Main cycle path (see also overview of Cycling routes in Bavaria).

  • Half-timbered line "Schnatterloch". Most famous motif in the city.
  • Market fountain. Built in 1583 by the sculptor Michael Junker from Miltenberg.
  • 1  To the giant. The oldest inn in Germany and a beautiful half-timbered building.
  • Mildenburg. With Toutonenstein. The castle was built in the 13th - 15th centuries. Since July 2011 it has housed a museum for icons and modern art.
