Eschau is a Lower Franconian market town in Spessart with the districts of Eschau, Hobbach, Sommerau and Wildensee as well as the hamlets of Ober- and Unteraulenbach and Wildenstein. It lies in the valley floor of the Elsava.

The area around Eschau was probably settled as early as the Bronze Age. The beginnings of today's market town of Eschau lie in the 17th century.

On the A3 Frankfurt-Würzburg, exit Rohrbrunn, then approx. 13 km towards Miltenberg.
